Minutes of PPI4Waste final conference now available online!

On 12 September 2017 PPI4Waste final conference took place, in Brussels. This one day event, entitled Feedback and opportunities for public procurement of innovation in the waste sector, was divided into two sessions. One to present the main findings of the PPI4Waste project and how PPI can be experimented and stimulated in the field of waste management while the other explored synergies between procurers and projects on innovative solutions.

The minutes of this event as well as some of the presentations made on that day are now available on the event’s page.

Amongst others, participants and speakers agreed that more cooperation is needed to support public procurement of innovation (PPI) and help increase the uptake of innovative solutions for waste management. Indeed, cooperation can facilitate transfer knowledge on PPI, but also lead to concrete coordinated or joint tenders that will reduce costs and risks.

In this line, ACR+ has launched a call for interest to its members wanting to launch PPI on their territory and encouraged them to contact the Secretariat to explore the possibilities for ACR+ to support their actions, in particular for coordinated procurement initiatives.

The PPI4Waste project has now reached its term but there is plenty of room for exploiting its results via the communities created during the project and by getting in touch with the partners who contributed to the project.

The project outcomes are available online.
