Discussion group Innovative waste management solutions and resource efficiency | New discussions November 2016

A discussion group, Innovative waste management solutions and resource efficiency, has been created on the Procurement Forum as a discussion platform for the Interest Group of the PPI4Waste project.

The aim of the Interest Group is to foster knowledge and exchange, and drive the uptake of innovative, sustainable, ready-to-use solutions in waste management across Europe.

Back to the days of smoke, nothing else than smoke and low life expectance, the 1st industrial revolution was the start into a resource-heavy, overshooting society we now live in. Nowadays, voices get stronger that talk about another industrial revolution – this times the 4th one – it shall look different than before: sustainable, resource-light and future-proof.

Study on “Strategic use of public procurement in promoting green, social and innovation policies

In June 2016, the DG GROW of the European Commission published a report entitled “Study on “Strategic use of public procurement in promoting green, social and innovation policies”” providing interesting information about public procurement in 10 countries of the European Union.

This study take stock of experiences in integrating green, social and innovation considerations in public procurement policy, processes and practices in 10 selected Member States (MS), namely Austria, France, Latvia, the Netherlands, Poland, Portugal, Slovakia, Spain, Sweden and the United Kingdom.
